ツイードの歴史[The History of wool tweed]

こんにちは、ハレノヒのegaです。
新作「ほっこりツイード二部式着物」にも使われてる秋冬お洋服の定番、ツイードってどんな生地か、ご存知ですか？

ツイードは英国発祥の、太い毛糸で織った厚手の毛織物です。ホームスパンとも呼ばれています。
”home”（家で）”spun”（紡ぐ）という名前の通り、家で紡いだ毛糸で自家用に織るもので、厚くて丈夫なので労働着に使われる生地でした。
現在は機械織が主流ですが、その頃の手作り感を生かして、ざっくりと温かみのある風合いを作り出しています。

そんな飾らない実用の生地だったツイードを女性用スーツに仕立てたのがココ•シャネルです。
彼女は下着の素材だったジャージー生地（編んで作る伸縮性のある生地）もスーツにしたことで有名です。
彼女の「元来使うはずのない素材をあえて選ぶ」というイノベーションのおかげで、女性が元気に動いて働ける、しかもおしゃれな服が誕生したのです。
元々は飾らない普段着の生地が、シャネル以降はおしゃれな婦人スーツの生地に。カジュアルにもセミフォーマルにも使える万能生地、それが現在のツイードです。

婦人用おしゃれ着の素材になったことで、色んな色柄のツイードが作られるようになりました。
ツイードは様々な色の毛糸を何種類も合わせて織り上げる生地で、近づいてみると色んな色が入っていて、複雑な色合いを作り出しています。
ハレノヒの「ほっこりツイード二部式着物」も、各色の色糸と生成の糸、そして隠し味のラメ糸が織り込まれています。
こちらのツイードはやや目が細かいやわらかい生地なので、肌触りも柔らかです。

Do you know what is "wool tweed"which used for our "wool tweed separated kimono"?

Wool tweed was woven in England at the first time.It is also called "Home spun".
It was made in shepherd's　house for their own use.
It is woven with thick yarn so it is thick warm fabric.It is good for work wear.
Nowadays,of course wool tweed is made by machine.But it keeps hand-made taste like it was at that time.

Wool tweed had been plane and practical fabric,it was Coco Chanel who changed wool tweed's position.
She used wool tweed for women's suites.
She is also famous as the first person who used jersey for women's suites.
Thanks of her material innovation,many women were encouraged to work active and freely.
She changed wool tweed not only practical but also stylish.
So,wool tweed have became multi purpose fabric as match for casual and semi-formal scene after Coco Chanel.

Used for ladies' garments,wool tweed have been made as various color and pattern.
Wool tweed is made by various kind of yarn,so if you look it in closer,you can find many color in the fabric.
Wool tweed of Harenohi's kimono is also made by color & ecru yarn and pink or white lame.
this fabric is made by rather thin yarn,so its touch is soft.
